Bora Tool is a prominent American brand specializing in innovative woodworking and workshop accessories. The brand was founded in 2006 under the parent company Affinity Tool Works, located in Troy, Michigan. Bora Tool gained significant market traction by focusing on products that enhance job-site productivity, such as mobile bases, saw horses, and cutting guides.
In 2017, Affinity Tool Works strategically expanded its portfolio by acquiring Centipede Tool, the creator of the popular 'Centipede' support system. Following this acquisition, the company rebranded its core lines as BORA PortaMate, integrating the Centipede technology into the Bora ecosystem. This evolution allowed the brand to offer modular, collapsible workstations that are widely used by both professional contractors and DIY enthusiasts.
In November 2023, Bora Tool was acquired by OX Tools, a global construction tool manufacturer. This acquisition has integrated Bora into a larger global distribution network while maintaining its headquarters in Michigan. While the engineering and design are rooted in the United States, manufacturing is primarily outsourced to manufacturing hubs in Asia, specifically China, to facilitate global scale.
