Bart Spices

Bart Spices, officially known as The Bart Ingredients Company, was founded in 1963 by Reg and Jo Bartlam in Bristol, United Kingdom. The company originally started as a small family business operating out of a garage, selling herbs and spices to the local community. Over the decades, it grew into one of the UK's leading spice brands, notably pioneering Fairtrade spices in the UK market in 2005 and inventing the patented "Spoonkler" jar lid in 2012.

In 2017, the company was acquired by the Fuchs Gruppe (Fuchs Group), Germany's largest spice producer and the largest privately-held spice company globally. While Bart remains deeply rooted in its Bristol heritage, having opened a major £15 million state-of-the-art production facility in Severn Beach, Bristol, in 2022, it also utilizes the global supply chain and manufacturing capabilities of its parent company. Today, Bart produces a wide range of dry spices, herbs, and wet pastes, maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and responsible sourcing through its association with the charitably-held Fuchs foundation.
