Floris van Bommel shoes

Floris van Bommel is a premium Dutch footwear brand with a heritage dating back to the 18th century. The company, officially known as Schoenfabriek Wed. J.P. van Bommel B.V., was founded in 1734 (with roots tracking back to a guild membership in 1718) in the Netherlands. It has remained a family-owned enterprise for nine generations, currently led by brothers Reynier, Floris, and Pepijn van Bommel. While the traditional 'Van Bommel' brand focuses on classic luxury shoes, the 'Floris van Bommel' sub-brand was launched in 1996 to offer a more fashionable and contemporary collection.

Manufacturing is centered at the company’s own historic factory in Moergestel, the Netherlands, which specializes in high-quality Goodyear and Blake construction methods. To fulfill global demand and utilize specific craftsmanship for varied styles, production also takes place in specialized partner factories across Portugal, Spain, and Italy. Additionally, a small portion of labor-intensive components, such as leather uppers, is produced in Tunisia under strict quality and ethical oversight by Dutch masters. The brand remains one of the last few remaining major shoe manufacturers still operating a full-scale production facility within the Netherlands.
