Palmolive is a globally recognized personal care brand with a legacy dating back to 1898. Originally founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, by B.J. Johnson as the B.J. Johnson Soap Company, it gained worldwide fame for its signature soap formulated from palm and olive oils. This success led the company to rename itself Palmolive in 1917.

In 1928, Palmolive merged with the Peet Brothers and the Colgate Company to form what would eventually become the Colgate-Palmolive Company in 1953. Today, the brand is owned by the American multinational Colgate-Palmolive, headquartered in New York City. Manufacturing for the brand is highly distributed to serve regional markets efficiently; for instance, Palmolive products sold in Europe are frequently produced in facilities in Italy or Poland, while other markets are supplied by factories in the United States, Mexico, and Asia.
