Elmex oral care products

Elmex is a premium oral care brand with a long history rooted in Swiss pharmaceutical science. It was originally developed in 1962 by GABA (Goldene Apotheke Basel), a Swiss pharmaceutical company with heritage dating back over 400 years. The brand achieved international acclaim for pioneering the use of amine fluoride, specifically developed by Dr. Hans R. Mühlemann at the University of Zurich to provide superior protection against dental caries.

In 2004, the GABA Group was acquired by the American multinational Colgate-Palmolive for approximately $841 million, integrating Elmex into one of the world's largest consumer goods portfolios. Today, Elmex continues to be marketed as a scientifically driven, high-performance brand.

While its origins and early production were strictly Swiss (primarily in Therwil, Switzerland), manufacturing has since expanded to meet global demand. Products are now manufactured in multiple locations, including Poland and other European facilities, though the brand maintains its identity as a Swiss-inspired leader in dental health.
