Hamoud Boualem Slim Citron

Slim Citron is a carbonated lemon beverage produced by Hamoud Boualem, the oldest soft drink company in Algeria. The Slim brand was first introduced in 1950 with its iconic lemon flavor and the slogan 'Slim, le citron qui prime' (Slim, the prime lemon). Since then, the range has expanded into several fruit flavors.

The parent company, Hamoud Boualem, was founded in 1878 by Youssef Hammoud in Algiers. It is a legendary family-owned business that has survived colonial era restrictions, nationalization, and competition from global giants like Coca-Cola and PepsiCo. Today, it remains a cultural icon in Algeria and is owned by the Hamoud and Hafiz families. The product is primarily manufactured in Algeria but is widely exported to markets in Europe, Canada, and North America to serve the Algerian diaspora.
