Kittl is a modern, browser-based graphic design platform that bridges the gap between simple template editors and complex professional software like Adobe Illustrator. Originally launched in 2020 under the name Heritage Type (and later Heritage Designer), it was founded in Berlin by Nicolas Heymann and Tobias Saul. The platform was initially a marketplace for premium vintage fonts and design assets but quickly evolved into a comprehensive SaaS solution known for its advanced typography controls and vector editing capabilities.

In 2022, the company rebranded as Kittl and pivoted toward an AI-native design workflow. Since then, it has introduced sophisticated features such as text-to-vector generation, AI-powered background removal, and smart mockup tools. Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, the company continues to develop its software locally while serving a global user base reaching over 10 million creators by early 2026. Kittl is owned by its parent legal entity, Kittl Technologies GmbH, and has secured significant venture capital funding from international firms to fuel its expansion into marketing automation and enterprise collaboration.
