Andrélon is an iconic Dutch hair care brand with a history dating back to 1940. It was founded by André de Jong, a hairdresser from Bodegraven, Netherlands, who began developing his own hair products in a small factory next to his salon. The brand is famous for its distinctive 'scale-patterned' purple bottle, which was originally inspired by the structure of pine cones used in early formulas and the microscopic scale structure of human hair.

In 1992, the brand was acquired by the multinational giant Unilever. While it originated in the Netherlands, manufacturing was largely shifted to Poland in the late 1990s as part of Unilever's supply chain optimization. Despite its international ownership, Andrélon remains a 'local jewel' in Unilever's portfolio, marketed almost exclusively in the Netherlands where it holds a dominant market share. Today, it operates under Unilever's Beauty & Wellbeing division.
