Ben's Original Natur-Reis

Ben's Original, formerly known as Uncle Ben's, is a globally recognized food brand specialized in parboiled rice. The brand was originally created by Converted Rice Inc., a partnership formed in the early 1940s between the American businessman Forrest Mars Sr. and the British-German chemist Erich Huzenlaub. Huzenlaub had patented a unique steaming and drying process known as parboiling, which allowed rice to retain more nutrients and cook faster.

Today, the brand is owned by Mars, Incorporated, one of the world's largest privately-owned food conglomerates. In 2020, Mars announced a major rebranding from Uncle Ben's to Ben's Original to address racial stereotypes associated with its previous name and logo. The product manufacturing occurs globally; while a major facility is located in Greenville, Mississippi, for the North American market, European products (like the one in the image typically sold in German supermarkets) are often produced at the Mars Food plant in Olen, Belgium, or processed through Mars GmbH facilities in Germany.
