Country Life Salted Butter

Country Life is a long-standing British brand of butter and spreads that was first launched in 1970 by the English Country Cheese Council. The brand is deeply associated with British heritage, prominently featuring the Union Jack and branding that highlights its use of 100% British countryside milk. It holds the Red Tractor certification, which ensures the product is traceable from British farms that meet high quality and welfare standards.

Historically, the brand was a central part of the Milk Marketing Board's processing arm, which later became Dairy Crest in 1981. In 2004, Dairy Crest gained full ownership of the brand by acquiring outstanding shares from other marketing groups.

In 2019, the ownership underwent a major shift when Canadian dairy giant Saputo Inc. acquired Dairy Crest for approximately $1.7 billion. Consequently, the company was rebranded as Saputo Dairy UK. Despite the change in parent company, the manufacturing remains firmly rooted in the United Kingdom, specifically utilizing British milk to maintain its 'Proudly British' market positioning.
