Coopers Dry is a low-carbohydrate lager produced by Coopers Brewery, a historic institution in the Australian beverage landscape. Originally established by Thomas Cooper in 1862 in Adelaide, South Australia, the brewery has remained a beacon of independence in an industry largely dominated by multinational conglomerates. The product itself is characterized by a fine-filtered brewing process that utilizes a specific yeast strain and Magnum hops to achieve a crisp, refreshing finish with citrus notes, catering to the modern demand for lower-sugar and lower-carb alcoholic options.
While many other major Australian beer brands have been acquired by international giants like Kirin (Lion) or Asahi (CUB), Coopers remains the largest Australian-owned brewery. It continues to be managed by descendants of the founder, now entering its sixth generation of family leadership. All manufacturing is centralized at their state-of-the-art facility in Regency Park, Adelaide, which includes on-site maltings to ensure total control over the production lifecycle from grain to glass.
