These tissues are manufactured at the Kimberly-Clark Millicent Mill in South Australia, a facility that has been home to Australian Kleenex production since 1966. The manufacturing process utilizes FSC-certified fiber from ethically managed forests.

The Kleenex brand itself traces its heritage back to 1924 in the United States, originally developed by the Cellucotton Products Company as a disposable alternative for removing cold cream. It was later rebranded for use as a disposable handkerchief after consumer feedback shifted its primary purpose.

Starting in 2026, the brand's ownership structure has evolved through a major strategic shift by Kimberly-Clark. While Kimberly-Clark remains the owner of the brand in North America, its international tissue operations—including those in Australia—are part of a joint venture partnership with Suzano, a Brazilian pulp giant. This partnership establishes Suzano as a key stakeholder in the production and distribution of Kleenex tissues across international markets.
