Dos Maderas 5+5 Triple Aged Rum

Dos Maderas 5+5 is a premium triple-aged rum that represents a unique cross-continental collaboration between the Caribbean and Spain. The production process begins with rums from Barbados and Guyana, which are aged for five years in their home countries in American oak casks. This initial aging provides the spirit with its foundational tropical notes and structure.

Following the first phase, the rum is transported to Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. There, it undergoes two additional stages of aging at the facilities of Bodegas Williams & Humbert. It is first aged for three years in casks that previously held 'Dos Cortados' (Palo Cortado) sherry, followed by a final two-year aging period in 'Don Guido' (Pedro Ximénez) sherry casks. This distinctive 'Two Woods' (Dos Maderas) method results in a complex spirit that combines the warmth of Caribbean rum with the nutty, sweet characteristics of Spanish sherry.

The brand is owned by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, a historic family-owned company in Jerez. The Medina family, who acquired the winery in the late 20th century, continues to operate the business, overseeing the blending and maturation processes that have earned the brand international acclaim.
