Lucas (Mother 3/Super Smash Bros.)

Lucas is the protagonist of the 2006 Game Boy Advance role-playing game Mother 3, which was developed by Brownie Brown and HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. Originally conceived as a sequel to EarthBound (Mother 2), the character was created by renowned Japanese copywriter and designer Shigesato Itoi. Lucas is known for his signature psychic abilities, referred to as PSI or PK powers.

While Mother 3 was released exclusively in Japan, Lucas gained worldwide recognition through his inclusion in the Super Smash Bros. crossover fighting game series, starting with Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008. As an intellectual property, Lucas is owned by Nintendo in conjunction with Shigesato Itoi's company, Hobonichi. The character remains a staple of Nintendo's legacy software and merchandising lineup, spanning digital games and physical collectibles like amiibo figures.
