Dymo is a globally recognized brand in the labeling and identification industry, originally founded in California in 1958. It gained fame for its manual embossing tape writers before evolving into the digital thermal printing technology seen in the LabelPoint series.
Starting as the Dymo Corporation, the company has undergone several ownership changes over the decades. It was first acquired by Esselte in 1978. Eventually, the brand was sold to the American conglomerate Newell Brands. Today, Dymo products are marketed as part of the Newell Brands portfolio, and manufacturing is largely centralized in large-scale production facilities in China to serve the international office supply market.
