Fontaneda Yayitas Honey Biscuits

Yayitas is a popular line of honey-flavored biscuits sold under the Fontaneda brand. Fontaneda was originally founded in 1881 by Rafael Fontaneda in Aguilar de Campoo, Spain. The town became famously known as the 'Village of Biscuits' due to the success of Fontaneda's factory and the production of the iconic 'Maria' biscuit.

Over the decades, the brand transitioned through several corporate owners. In 1996, it was acquired by Nabisco, which later became part of United Biscuits. In 2002, the brand was sold to the French multinational Danone. Finally, in 2007, Danone's biscuit division was acquired by Kraft Foods, which eventually spun off its snack division to form Mondelēz International. Today, Yayitas remain a staple snack produced under Mondelēz, maintaining their heritage as an authentic Spanish biscuit brand while operating within a global snack conglomerate.
