Al Simpkins products

Simpkins, officially known as A.L. Simpkins & Co. Ltd, is a legendary British confectionery manufacturer famous for its high-quality travel sweets and glucose drops. The brand was established in 1921 by Albert Leslie Simpkins in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Albert, a veteran of World War I, saw a gap in the market for high-quality, glucose-based sweets that were portable and effective for motion sickness, leading to the creation of the iconic round tins.

Today, Simpkins remains one of the few traditional family-run confectionery businesses in Britain, currently managed by the third generation of the Simpkins family. The products are still manufactured in Sheffield using many of the original methods and recipes, including natural flavours and colours. Their distinctive heritage tins are exported to pharmacies and gift shops in over 40 countries worldwide, cementing their status as a staple of British sweet-making history.
