Rossignol is a legendary name in the wintersports world, founded in 1907 by Abel Rossignol in Voiron, Isère, France. What began as a company producing wooden skis has evolved into a global leader in high-performance alpine, cross-country, and snowboarding equipment. The brand's rich heritage is deeply rooted in the French Alps, where it continues to design and test many of its top-tier race products.

Today, manufacturing is distributed across Europe to maintain high quality. While their premium racing skis are still handcrafted in France at the Sallanches factory, other production lines for skis, boots, and apparel are located in Italy, Ukraine, and Spain. This strategic manufacturing footprint ensures the brand remains competitive while adhering to rigorous European standards.

Ownership of the brand has shifted through several hands, from the Rossignol family to Quiksilver, and eventually to its current stable home under investment groups. Currently, Rossignol is the flagship brand of the Rossignol Group, which is owned by the Swedish-based investment firm Altor. This partnership has allowed the brand to expand its reach into four-season lifestyle apparel and mountain biking equipment while staying true to its alpine DNA.
