Nautica is a leading global lifestyle brand founded in 1983 by designer David Chu. Inspired by the sea and the spirit of exploration, the brand initially gained fame for its iconic outerwear and classic American sportswear. Over the decades, it has expanded its portfolio to include menswear, womenswear, children's clothing, and home accessories.

Originally established as an independent company in New York, the brand underwent significant ownership changes, being acquired by State-O-Maine, which later renamed itself Nautica Enterprises. In 2003, VF Corporation acquired the brand. Today, Nautica is owned by Authentic Brands Group (ABG), a brand development and marketing company that acquired it in 2018.

Manufacturing for Nautica products occurs across a global network of suppliers, primarily located in regions such as Asia (Vietnam, China, Bangladesh) and Central America, to support its international distribution and diverse product lines.
