Founded in San Francisco, California, in 1977 by Roy Raymond, Victoria's Secret was born with the intent of making lingerie shopping a more comfortable and sophisticated experience. The brand quickly grew into a global household name, defining contemporary lingerie marketing through the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
While the brand holds deep American roots, the manufacturing of its garments, including bras and sportswear, is conducted through a vast international supply chain. Production is primarily concentrated in Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and China, which allow for high-volume manufacturing of intricate textile designs.
In 2021, the brand underwent a significant corporate restructuring, spinning off from L Brands to become Victoria's Secret & Co., an independent publicly traded entity. Today, the company continues to manage the Victoria's Secret, PINK, and Adore Me brands, focusing on inclusivity and modernizing its image while maintaining its headquarters in Ohio, United States.
