The Honeywell Chronotherm is a widely recognized line of programmable thermostats designed for residential climate control. Honeywell's history in temperature regulation dates back to the late 19th century in the United States, following the invention of the thermostat flip-flap. The brand has since evolved into a global leader in home comfort and automation technologies.
In 2018, Honeywell International Inc. spun off its home and ADI global distribution business into a separate, publicly-traded company called Resideo Technologies, Inc. Following this transition, Resideo holds a long-term license for the Honeywell Home brand, including the thermostat product lines. While the brand originated in the USA, modern manufacturing for these consumer electronic products is distributed globally to optimize supply chains, with significant production centers located in Mexico and Asia to serve international markets like Europe and North America.
