BNNVARA Media Content

BNNVARA is a Dutch public broadcaster that produces and distributes content for television, radio, and digital platforms. The brand was established through the merger of two long-standing organizations: BNN (Bart's Never-ending News), founded in 1997, and VARA (Vereeniging van Arbeiders Radio Amateurs), originally founded in 1925.

As a core member of the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO) system, BNNVARA operates under a public mandate. Its production is primarily based in the Netherlands, specifically within the Media Park in Hilversum. While it functions as an independent association with its own members and editorial identity, its ultimate ownership and financing are tied to the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science via the NPO governing body.
