MasterFoods is a quintessential Australian brand with a history dating back to 1926. Originally established by Henry Lewis as a specialty food importer known as Henry Lewis & Sons, the business underwent a name change to MasterFoods in 1945. It transitioned from importing to manufacturing its own products in the early 1950s, starting with pickles and expanding into its now-famous mustards and sauces.

In 1967, the brand was acquired by Mars, Incorporated, a major family-owned multinational based in the United States. Despite this change in ownership, the brand has maintained its strong Australian identity. The Dijonnaise Mustard shown here is part of a broad range of condiments that are still primarily produced at the company's manufacturing facility on the New South Wales Central Coast. Today, the brand operates as part of the Mars Food & Nutrition division, continuing to serve as a staple in Australian households while being distributed internationally.
