The Vitasoy brand was originally founded in Hong Kong by Dr. Lo Kwee-seong in 1940 as the Hong Kong Soya Bean Products Co., Ltd. While Vitasoy International Holdings remains the brand's global parent, the Australian operations underwent significant ownership changes recently. Previously a joint venture, Vitasoy Australia became a 100% subsidiary of Bega Cheese Limited (now Bega Group) after Bega acquired the remaining shares in early 2023. Bega Group is a major Australian food and beverage company headquartered in Bega, New South Wales.
