Château Prieuré-Lichine Margaux Grand Cru Classé

Château Prieuré-Lichine is a prestigious estate located in the Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region in France. As a 4th Growth wine (Quatrième Cru) in the historic 1855 Classification, it represents a high standard of French winemaking. The wine showcased is a 2004 vintage, primarily made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.

The history of the estate dates back to the Roman times when it was a priory for Benedictine monks. It gained significant fame under the ownership of Alexis Lichine, often called the 'Pope of Wine,' who purchased the estate in 1951. Following his tenure and that of his son, Sacha Lichine, the estate was sold in 1999 to the Groupe Ballande. Today, the estate continues to produce highly-regarded wines that are bottled at the château in Cantenac, ensuring the preservation of the local terroir's character.
