Founded in 2004 by the Natural Balance Foods company, the brand focused on creating minimally processed snacks using whole-food ingredients like dates and nuts, without the use of added sugars or syrups. In 2015, the Belgian confectionery giant Lotus Bakeries acquired a majority stake in Natural Balance Foods.
