Breitling Emergency Watch

Breitling is a prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer known for its high-performance timepieces intended for professional aviators and explorers. Founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, the company moved to Grenchen in 1982, where it continues to produce its watches entirely within the country to maintain the 'Swiss Made' seal of quality. The Breitling Emergency is particularly famous for being the world's first wristwatch built with an integrated dual-frequency personal locator beacon, designed to trigger rescue operations in distress situations.

While the brand remained in the hands of the Schneider family for several decades, it was acquired by the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners in 2017. In late 2022, Partners Group, a Swiss private equity firm, acquired a majority stake in Breitling, ensuring the brand remains under Swiss ownership and strategic direction. Breitling's manufacturing processes remain centralized in Switzerland, emphasizing the heritage of Swiss horology and engineering excellence.
