Cuétara María Oro is one of the most iconic biscuit products in the Spanish market. The brand Cuétara was founded in the 1930s by Juan and Florencio Gómez Cuétara in Reinosa, Cantabria. For decades, it has been a staple of Spanish breakfasts.

Manufacturing primarily takes place in Spain, notably at the factory in Villarejo de Salvanés, Madrid. While the brand has a deep Spanish heritage, its ownership has transitioned through several major food conglomerates. In 2015, Adam Foods was formed following the split of the Nutrexpa group, and it took over the Cuétara and Artiach brands. Today, Adam Foods remains the ultimate owner, specializing in the production of biscuits and pastries across the Iberian Peninsula.
