APC Symmetra Power Array

APC, originally standing for American Power Conversion, is a cornerstone brand in the power protection and data center infrastructure industry. Founded in 1981 by electronic power engineers from MIT, the company initially focused on solar energy research before pivoting to uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) in the mid-1980s. The brand became widely recognized for its high-quality surge protectors and desktop UPS units, eventually expanding into large-scale enterprise solutions.

In 2007, the company was acquired by the French multinational Schneider Electric. This merger combined APC's power protection expertise with Schneider’s energy management and automation capabilities to create the APC by Schneider Electric brand. Today, while the engineering and brand management remain globally distributed, manufacturing is primarily conducted in large-scale facilities across Asia, specifically in the Philippines and China, to support global supply chains.
