Hey Dude was established in Italy in 2008 by Alessandro Rosano with the mission of creating lightweight, comfortable, and stylish footwear. The brand quickly gained international popularity for its slip-on designs, such as the Wendy and Wally styles, which emphasize ease of use and everyday comfort.

In early 2022, the brand reached a major milestone when it was acquired by the American footwear giant Crocs, Inc. for approximately $2.5 billion. This acquisition allowed Hey Dude to leverage Crocs' extensive global distribution network while maintaining its unique brand identity.

Today, while the brand's design roots and creative vision remains inspired by its Italian heritage, the corporate headquarters are located in the United States. Manufacturing is carried out in multiple countries across Asia to ensure global supply chain efficiency.
