Shockwaves is a heritage hair styling brand that became iconic during the late 20th century for its focus on youth culture and high-performance styling products. Originally developed as a sub-brand under the Wella umbrella in Germany, it quickly expanded across Europe and international markets, becoming a staple in the mass-market hair care segment.
Following a series of major corporate acquisitions, the brand moved from Wella to Procter & Gamble in 2003. However, in a landmark 2016 brand divestiture, it was part of a multi-billion dollar deal that saw a significant portion of P&G's specialty beauty portfolio transferred to Coty Inc. Today, Shockwaves continues to operate under Coty’s professional and consumer beauty divisions, maintaining its position as a go-to brand for affordable, trend-led hair styling solutions.
