Zala bottled water

Zala is a well-known Slovenian brand of bottled water, originally introduced by the Pivovarna Union brewery in Ljubljana. The water is sourced from deep underground wells in the Ljubljana area, known for its purity and mineral balance. For decades, it has been one of the leading names in the Adriatic region's non-alcoholic beverage market.

Over the years, the brand underwent significant ownership changes during the consolidation of the Slovenian beverage industry. It was long part of the Pivovarna Union group before that company merged with Pivovarna Laško. In 2024, after being owned by Heineken for a several years, the Zala brand and its production facilities were sold to Nika Bev, a group focused on consolidating regional beverage brands. Today, the water continues to be produced primarily in Slovenia, maintaining its strong local heritage while being distributed across the Balkan markets.
