Sætre biscuits

Sætre is one of Norway's oldest and most iconic biscuit brands, founded in 1883. It is widely recognized by its distinctive rooster logo, which has become a symbol of breakfast and snack traditions in Norwegian households for over a century. The brand's history began at Heggedal in Asker, where it started as a small local bakery before growing into the country's leading biscuit manufacturer.

Today, Sætre is owned by Orkla, a Nordic industrial giant. Following various restructuring efforts in the early 2000s, much of the large-scale production was moved from the original Norwegian factories to Orkla's specialized biscuit production facilities in Kungälv, Sweden. While the brand remains deeply tied to its Norwegian heritage and commercial identity, it operates as part of a larger international supply chain managed from Oslo.
