Gregory Backpacks

Gregory Mountain Products was founded in 1977 by Wayne Gregory in San Diego, California. The brand is a pioneer in the outdoor industry, known for being the first to build backpacks in various frame, harness, and waist belt sizes to provide a custom-like fit for hikers and climbers. This focus on ergonomics and load-transfer technology made Gregory a premier name in technical mountain gear.

Over the decades, the brand has undergone several changes in ownership. After periods under Bianchi and Black Diamond, Gregory was acquired by Samsonite International S.A. in 2014. Today, while the design and research and development continue to be centered in Salt Lake City, Utah, the manufacturing is primarily global, with large-scale production facilities located in Southeast Asia to serve its international market.
