Venz is a quintessential Dutch brand, legendary for its chocolate sprinkles (hagelslag) and flakes, which are a breakfast staple in the Netherlands. Founded in 1890 by Hendrik de Venz in Vaassen, the company originally focused on chocolate production. The 'Bananen Split' variety shown here is a specialized fruit-flavored and chocolate mix tailored to children, featuring unique shapes called 'Rimboe Funnies'.

Historically an independent family business, Venz was acquired by Droste and later became part of the CSM (Centrale Suiker Maatschappij) portfolio. In 2001, it was purchased by the American food giant H.J. Heinz Company. Following the global merger between Heinz and Kraft Foods in 2015, the brand is now under the stewardship of The Kraft Heinz Company. Most production for the Dutch market remains concentrated in the Netherlands to ensure traditional quality standards.
