Giant Manufacturing Co. is a global leader in the bicycle industry, recognized as the world's largest bicycle manufacturer by revenue. Founded in 1972 by King Liu in Dajia, Taichung (Taiwan), the company initially operated as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), producing high-quality bicycles for major brands like Schwinn. This technical foundation allowed Giant to eventually launch its own branded bicycles in the early 1980s, quickly establishing a reputation for innovation and performance.

Today, Giant is a vertical powerhouse, controlling almost every aspect of the bicycle creation process—from raw carbon fiber production and aluminum smelting to final assembly. While the brand is headquartered in Taiwan and maintains its most advanced high-end production facilities there, it has expanded its manufacturing footprint to include large-scale factories in China and European facilities in Hungary and the Netherlands to serve local markets more efficiently.

The Giant Group now oversees a portfolio of specialized brands, including Liv (dedicated to female cyclists), Momentum (urban lifestyle bikes), and Cadex (high-performance components). The company remains an independent Taiwanese entity, listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, and continues to drive the industry forward with proprietary technologies such as ALUXX aluminum and Maestro suspension systems.
