Politiken newspaper

Politiken is a leading Danish broadsheet daily newspaper, founded in 1884 in Copenhagen. It has historically occupied a significant role in the Danish cultural and political landscape, often characterized by its social-liberal editorial stance.

The physical newspaper is printed in Denmark, primarily at the printing facilities in Glostrup owned by JP/Politikens Hus. As a legacy print brand that has successfully transitioned to digital media, Politiken remains one of the most influential outlets in Scandinavia.

Since 2003, the brand has been owned by JP/Politikens Hus A/S, which was formed through the merger of Politikens Hus and Jyllands-Posten. The ultimate ownership lies with two foundations: Politiken-Fonden and Jyllands-Posten Fond, ensuring the company remains under Danish control and operates with a degree of editorial independence from commercial interests.
