E. Wedel is one of Poland's most storied and prestigious chocolate brands, tracing its history back to 1851 when Karol Wedel founded the first factory in Warsaw. The brand became an icon of Polish confectionery, known for its premium ingredients and traditional recipes, most notably its Ptasie Mleczko marshmallow treats and classic chocolate tablets.

Throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the brand's ownership shifted through major global corporations, including PepsiCo and later Kraft Foods (now Mondelēz International). However, due to antitrust regulations during the acquisition of Cadbury by Kraft, the E. Wedel business was sold to the LOTTE Group in 2010. Today, the brand remains centrally produced in its historic location in Warsaw, Poland, while being part of a major South Korean-Japanese multinational conglomerate.
