Mountain Goat GOAT Beer

Mountain Goat Beer is a pioneer of the Australian craft brewing scene, having been established in 1997 in Richmond, Victoria. Originally founded by Cam Hines and Dave Bonighton as an independent microbrewery, the brand quickly gained a following for its high-quality ales and experimental batches. The 'GOAT' (Very Enjoyable Beer) is one of their most popular mainstream offerings, designed as an approachable, clean-drinking lager.

In 2015, the brewery was acquired by Asahi Beverages, the Australian and New Zealand subsidiary of the Japanese multinational Asahi Group Holdings. Despite this ownership transition, Mountain Goat maintains a strong presence in the Australian market, with primary production continuing at their Richmond site and at larger Asahi-owned facilities within Australia. The brand benefits from the extensive distribution network of the Asahi Group while maintaining its original craft identity.
