Maggi is a historic Swiss brand founded by Julius Maggi in 1884, originally created to provide nutritious, quick-to-prepare vegetable-based meals for worker families. The brand became famous for its liquid seasoning and bouillon cubes.
Today, Maggi is a global culinary powerhouse owned by the Swiss multinational Nestlé. In the German market, Maggi Fix products—dried seasoning mixes for specific dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese or Goulash—are extremely popular. These products are predominantly manufactured in Germany at the large Maggi factory in Singen (Hohentwiel), though Nestlé operates manufacturing facilities for the brand on nearly every continent to serve local tastes.
