Orzoro is an iconic Italian brand of soluble roasted barley, widely used as a naturally caffeine-free coffee substitute. Its roots in Italy date back to 1940, where it became a staple in Italian households for its digestive properties and natural flavor. Today, the product is primarily manufactured in Italy, specifically in the San Sisto (Perugia) factory, ensuring original quality and flavor profiles for the domestic and export markets.
The brand was originally developed and marketed by the Italian company Compagnia Italiana Liebig. In 1974, Orzoro was acquired by the Swiss multinational Nestlé. Since then, Nestlé has maintained Orzoro's strong brand identity as an 'Italian classic' while utilizing its global distribution network to reach international markets. Nestlé S.A., headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland, remains the ultimate owner and global manager of the brand through its local subsidiary, Nestlé Italiana S.p.A.
