Teufel Headphones

Teufel, officially known as Lautsprecher Teufel GmbH, is a prominent German manufacturer of audio products including speakers, headphones, and hi-fi systems. Founded in Berlin in 1979 by Peter Tschimmel, the brand initially specialized in speaker construction kits. Over the decades, it evolved into a direct-to-consumer powerhouse known for high-quality acoustic engineering.

While the research, development, and industrial design take place at the brand's headquarters in Berlin, manufacturing is primarily outsourced to specialized facilities in China to maintain competitive pricing. In 2010, the company was acquired by the private equity firm HGGC, and later in 2018, it was acquired by the French investment company Ardian. As of today and moving into 2026, Teufel remains under the ownership of Ardian, continuing its legacy as a leading European audio brand with a strong focus on digital sales and innovative sound technology.
