Ryobi is a prominent brand in the power tool and outdoor equipment industry, widely recognized for its signature neon yellow or 'Hyper Green' color scheme. Originally founded in Japan in 1943, Ryobi Seisakusho Co., Ltd. began as a die-casting manufacturer before expanding into printing presses and power tools. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the brand underwent significant ownership changes as it diversified its global reach.
Today, the Ryobi brand name is licensed and utilized by different entities depending on the product line and region. The power tools division, which includes the IntelliPort charger shown, is owned and manufactured by Techtronic Industries (TTI), a global leader in cordless technology based in Hong Kong. While the brand has Japanese roots, most manufacturing for the global market takes place in TTI's large-scale facilities in China, Vietnam, and Mexico to serve international retailers like The Home Depot and various European hardware chains.
