Seepje detergent and personal care

Seepje is a Dutch brand founded in 2013 by Jasper Gabrielse and Melvin Loggies. The idea for the company was born after watching a documentary about how people in Nepal used Sapindus mukorossi shells (soapnuts) to wash clothes. Seepje imports these shells from the Himalayan mountains, where they are harvested sustainably, and uses them as the natural base for its range of cleaning and personal care products.

The brand has grown significantly from its humble beginnings in a student room to a prominent B Corp certified eco-label. Based in The Hague, Seepje focuses on fair wash products that are at least 99% natural, vegan, and free from microplastics. While the soapnuts are sourced from Nepal and India to support local farmers, the final manufacturing and formulation of their liquid detergents and soaps take place primarily in the Netherlands.
