Tate & Lyle Pure Cane Granulated Sugar

Tate & Lyle is an iconic British sugar brand with a heritage dating back to the late 19th century. The company was famously formed in 1921 through the merger of two rival sugar refiners: Henry Tate & Sons and Abram Lyle & Sons. Henry Tate established several sugar refineries, most notably the Thames Sugar Refinery in Silvertown, East London, which remains a primary production hub for the brand's cane sugar products today.

While the Tate & Lyle Sugars brand is synonymous with British baking culture, its ownership has evolved. In 2010, the European sugar refining business was sold by Tate & Lyle PLC to American Sugar Refining, Inc. (ASR Group). Despite this change in corporate ownership, the brand maintains its deep production roots in the UK, utilizing raw cane sugar imported from around the world to be refined at the historic London plant. The brand is well-regarded for being the first to produce sugar cubes and for its long-standing Royal Warrant.
