Hoegaarden Wit / Blanche

Hoegaarden is a world-renowned Belgian wheat beer with a history dating back to 1445. It was originally created by monks in the village of Hoegaarden, who experimented by adding exotic botanicals like coriander and orange peel—ingredients brought back from the Dutch East Indies. While the original brewery eventually closed in the 1950s, the style was famously revived in 1965 by milkman Pierre Celis, who restored the traditional witbier recipe and founded the De Kluis brewery.

Today, Hoegaarden is an iconic global brand within the Belgian beer portfolio. While the heart of its production remains in Hoegaarden, Belgium, the brand's immense global popularity has led to localized manufacturing in various regions to meet demand. It is now part of a massive global network, ensuring that this classic cloudy, citrus-infused ale is available in nearly every corner of the world while maintaining its historic heritage.
