Synnøve Finden Cheese

Synnøve Finden is a prominent Norwegian dairy company established in 1928 by its namesake, Synnøve Finden, alongside Pernille Holmen. It started as a small local cheese factory on the Grefsen Plateau in Oslo and grew to become the primary challenger to Tine, the national dairy monopoly in Norway. The brand is deeply rooted in Norwegian agricultural history, particularly known for its yellow and brown (brunost) cheeses.

In modern times, the brand underwent various ownership changes, moving from private hands to being listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange before returning to private ownership. Today, the brand is owned by the investment company Scandza, which is headquartered in Norway. While the majority of production remains tied to Norwegian farms and processing facilities in Alvdal and Namsos, the brand has successfully expanded international sales, particularly finding a popular niche in the South Korean market.
