Herschel Supply Co. is a global lifestyle brand founded in 2009 by brothers Jamie and Lyndon Cormack. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, the brand was named after the small town of Herschel, Saskatchewan, where three generations of their family grew up. The company quickly gained international fame for its 'retro-modern' aesthetic, combining nostalgic designs with modern functionality.
While the brand is deeply rooted in Canadian heritage, the physical manufacturing of its products primarily takes place in China. This is consistent with the global supply chain models of most modern soft-goods retailers. The company maintains strict quality control and design oversight from its headquarters in Vancouver to ensure all products meet the brand's durability standards.
Herschel remains a privately held company. In 2019, the founders sold a minority stake to a consortium involving Alliance Consumer Growth, Eurazeo, and HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan). Despite this outside investment, the Cormack brothers continue to lead the company and retain significant ownership. The brand is available in thousands of retail locations worldwide, cementing its status as a leader in the premium accessory market.
