Dombay is a Russian brandy, traditionally labeled as 'Cognac' in the local market, produced by the Praskoveyskiy Winery. The brand's heritage is deeply rooted in the Stavropol region of Russia, specifically in the village of Praskoveya. The winery was established in 1898, as indicated on the label, and is one of the oldest and most respected spirits producers in the country.

This specific spirit is aged for at least 5 years and takes its name from the Dombay mountain region in the North Caucasus. While the term 'Cognac' is protected under EU law to refer only to products from France, Russia uses the Cyrillic 'Коньяк' for local brandy produced using traditional methods. The Praskoveyskiy Winery remains the primary manufacturer and owner, maintaining its status as a significant regional enterprise with a long history of viticulture and distillation.
