The brand was founded by the Mazzetti family, who have been producing traditional vinegars for generations. In 2019, the brand was acquired by the Associated British Foods (ABF) group through its subsidiary Acetum. Despite this change in corporate ownership, production remains centered in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy to maintain the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI/IGP) status and traditional quality that the Mazzetti name is celebrated for internationally.
